It looks like the bane of Usenet outdoor and environmental newsgroups, Mike Vandeman, is upping his game:
The article’s description of him as a ‘trail advocate’ doesn’t do him justice. From the late 80’s through the early 90’s he was an anti-automobile activist of sorts, attending countless public meetings and spamming multiple newsgroups and other online forums almost daily in opposition to just about every San Francisco Bay Area road project that worthy of media attention. Then he abandoned that quest and switched to attacking mountain bikers as the root of all backcountry evil in the same fashion. He’s still going at it after over a decade, despite having had a 0% success rate in stopping any road project or curtailing mountain biking anywhere.
