High Sierra
The High Sierra is generally defined as the area from the northern boundary of Yosemite National Park, where there’s a noticeably abrupt transition to much more rougher peaks, and the Southern boundary of Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park.

- Jeffry Schaffer’s The Tahoe Sierra: A Natural History Guide. Actually a hiking guide with some natural history mixed in.
- RJ Secor’s The High Sierra: Peaks, Passes, and Trails.
- Touring Nevada: A Scenic and History Guide. Oriented to auto-tripping, very comprehensive, though some information about available businesses and services, especially gas, may be dated.
